What is Latin even?
Latin was a language that was spoken thousands of years ago in Ancient Rome, originally located in central Italy. The people who lived in Ancient Rome were called Romans. The Romans were very powerful and conquered many places in Europe and Asia, which is why Latin is the mother language of many modern languages like Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese and Romanian. Latin also greatly influenced English, and the Latin is still used in science, medicine and law. |
